Poker Tours
If you are a poker player who is looking to find the best live poker tournaments available; there is no better action than one of the three largest poker tours in the world. The World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour, and European Poker Tour, have all increased so much in popularity since the early 2000′s, that they feature multiple prize pools that reach into the millions. Each poker tour does their events differently, but we will give a quick briefing as to how each poker tour works, and also give you even more information on each tour on each specific page!
World Series of Poker
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) features one of the largest poker tournaments in the world, the World Series of Poker Main Event. This is a $10,000 buy-in tournament that has drawn in as many as 8,000+ players in one year. The largest payout of all time for the Main Event was a $12 million first place prize back in 2006. The World Series of Poker features 58 different gold bracelet events currently.
The World Poker Tour (WPT) features different tournaments all across the world, in multiple different countries. The bulk of these events are held in the United States, but unlike the World Series of Poker; the events do vary outside of the United States sometimes. The World Poker Tour has had some of the largest payouts of any poker event excluding the World Series of Poker, and has awarded first place prizes of over $3 million before.
European Poker Tour
The European Poker Tour (EPT) is done quite a bit differently than the other two main poker tours. The European Poker Tour is sponsored by PokerStars, and originally began with smaller buy-ins for players. Currently, each season of this tour features between seven and 12 different events, each taking place in different countries all around the world. There have been payouts at the EPT which have topped $3 million as well.
As you can tell by these three major poker tours, each of them offers players something different. While some give the bonus of international players, and the option to play all around the world, others will offer incredible amounts of events, or even huge payouts. Each poker tour will give you a little bit of everything, and it is highly recommended for all poker players to try their luck at an event on each of the three poker tours.
